Greetings from The Bubble! We had a busy week preparing for Suzy's arrival and trying out daycare for the first time!
Monday was Memorial Day and of course, our 2 year anniversary. We received some beautiful flowers from Daddy! They are pink roses and lillies and are shockingly still alive now! Somehow I managed to remember to water them. Maybe because they are so pretty? They make the whole kitchen smell great. Thank you daddy for remembering. I love you very much.
For the rest of the week, Connor and I just cleaned the house and made sure to clean up before Hurricane Suzy arrived. He has been sleeping like an angel thus far and is generally sleeping about 8/9 hours a night. He goes to bed somewhere around 9pm and wakes up around 6:30AM. I feed him then and he goes back to sleep for another few hours until around 8:30AM. It has made a world of a difference for both of us. He generally wakes up happy and not even really crying. I can tell he is doing very well!! Here is a pic of the little angel.
Suzy arrived on Friday and we went to the Marathon Expo at the Convention Center downtown. Lots of crazy people running the marathon were there as well as desperate advertisers. One clever company called Shoe Dogs had some poor kids dress up as dogs and harass people in the lobby. Connor didn't know what to think but I thought it was kind of cute. :)
On Saturday, the Sheehy's hosted their going away party for the Lindbloms and Russ. It was a theme party titled East Coast vs. West Coast and people were directed to dress up in garb reflecting their favorite coast. Russ outdid everyone in khakis, collared shirt and a salmon tie. Ryan was strangely dressed as a greasy mechanic and your boy was California casual in a polo shirt and jeans. He hung out with the guys in the mancave garage and took a pic in front of Alice - the beer dispensing refrigerator. I think he is already accepted as part of the group.
Sunday was the marathon and the Lindbloms had kindly offered to watch Connor for the morning, so I took them up on it. Thank god for them because there was no way I would have been able to maneuver the nightmare shuttle/trolley system by myself with him. It was also hot and sunny and since Connor is cursed with our pasty fair skin, I presume our son would have gotten as sunburned as me. They had a big morning going to the dog beach at Coronado and the Lindbloms had fun pretending to have another kid. Connor flirted with the girls and got some beach time in while mom braved the crowds.
I went to the Lindbloms to pick him up and stayed around for a few beers before heading home. Connor knew I needed some down time so he took a nap while Shannon and I caught up. He had a big morning!
We love you daddy!
